Updates and Details for India vs Pakistan World T20 match transferred to Kolkata from Dharamsala:
The 1st World T20 match of India vs Pakistan is held on 19th March 2016. It was set to play on the ground of Dharamsala. But due to security reasons, ICC moved it to the Kolkata.
On Wednesday, ICC CEO Dave Richardson told reporters in Delhi that “We have taken the decision after consulting with our security officers. We are responsible for the security of teams. Their safety is of prime concern.”
Richardson said, “This was the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup that a venue had to be changed due to security reasons. Fans can either get a full refund or transfer their ticket for the Kolkata match. It is unfortunate that the local government raised concerns late.”

ICC said that Pakistan team players can stay in the camp in Kolkata where they will be play two warm-up games against Bengal on March 12 and Sri Lanka on March 14. Team Pakistan will open their T20 World Cup campaign on March 14 against a qualifier in Kolkata. Their next match is against India on 19th March 2016. After it, they will face New Zealand on 22nd March and Australia on 25th March in Mohali.
PCB is expecting an assurance against specific threats to their from various political parties and groups. So they decided to defer the departure of Pakistan men and women’s team to India.
BCCI blamed the Himachal Pradesh state government for the change in venue. The former servicemen of Himachal Pradesh have been against to the India vs Pakistan T20 world cup match because it hurts the sentiments of the families of soldiers of the state which killed in battle against Pakistan. So, ICC and BCCI failed to find a solution forcing the PCB to abandon Dharamsala as a venue. But now, ICC has transfer the match of India vs Pakistan to Kolkata from Dharamsala.
